Lapp Insulators proudly looks back to its long and successful history. Based on certain and former competing businesses Lapp emerged to a leading position in the insulator market today. Within the last hundred years the competence in producing high quality products has been developed in north Bavaria in Germany. Different plants were founded as independent manufactures about the turn of the 19th century. One of the factories was based on the world famous Rosenthal & Co founded 1889 in Selb. The today's headquarters of Lapp Insulators Europe was founded in Wunsiedel in 1901. In 2001 the world-renowned US-American Lapp Insulators Group integrated the German manufacturing site in Wunsiedel and the High Voltage Laboratory in Selb. The latest fundamental move was taken in 2008 when Lapp Insulators improved significantly its market position by acquiring the Insulator and Alumina businesses of Argillon (the former Siemens insulators business) in Redwitz (Germany). Accordingly two more factories in Jedlina Zdroj (Poland) and Turda (Romania) were welcomed in the Lapp Insulators Group as part of this acquisition. Due to the exchange of knowledge and technology Lapp is excellently prepared for offering the worlds best insulators to their clients.
